The Mercedes W196 as it was raced in 1954 and 1955 by Stirling Moss, Juan Manuel Fangio and Karl Kling. The car achieved an astonishing 1-2 victory at Reims in its debut race. Stirling Moss won the 1955 British GP in the famous Moss - Fangio 1-2 finish. After the 1955 Le Mans disaster Mercedes - Benz withdrew from racing.
